About the Team and the Role
BLB&G seeks a proactive and experienced Paralegal to work with our Case Development and Client Advisory Group in our New York office. The Paralegal, who will report to the Group's Senior Case Manager, will work directly with a dedicated team of attorneys and other staff members that analyze and advise clients on potential securities fraud claims. Specifically, the Paralegal will assist the fast-paced group with conducting research, proofreading, cite-checking, bluebooking, and filing of court documents, including initial complaints and pleadings to secure leadership in complex securities class actions, as well as with a variety of other tasks related to case analysis and client communications, including preparation and dissemination of client memoranda and reports, client retentions and onboarding processes, and client development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, BloombergLaw, AlphaSense, and other systems
- Proofread and cite-check / fact-check briefs, complaints, and other documents
- Prepare, finalize, and file legal documents
- Assist with retrieval of rules and regulations
- Organize and track case files, maintain reference files, and manage outlook calendar deadlines
- Provide administrative assistance on other tasks within the department including support on RFPs and other client and business development matters
- Maintain time entries in iTimeKeep
