Special Education Paraprofessional Job
The Berrien County Schools Consortium is seeking a qualified Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. This role involves working with students with disabilities in inclusive educational settings and promoting social acceptance among general education peers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with special education and general education teachers to support students in their least restrictive environment.
- Implement accommodations and modifications for students based on their individualized education plans.
- Provide personal care services, including assistance with toileting, feeding, dressing, and transferring as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA guidelines regarding student information.
- Complete Medicaid Personal Care Logs as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Passed the paraprofessional test for certification or completed two years of college.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated technical skills and basic understanding of the educational process.
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of others.
