Job Summary: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general craft-type jobs, as well as specialized skill jobs, to maintain and improve the facilities of the school system. You will assist in the performance of preventive maintenance, emergency repair, and any type of repair in various craft or trade areas.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general craft-type jobs and specialized skill jobs to maintain and improve school facilities
- Assist in the performance of preventive maintenance, emergency repair, and any type of repair in various craft or trade areas
- Consult with the Director of Maintenance regarding new installations and modifications of existing systems
- Demonstrate skill in the use and care of tools and equipment in the maintenance department
- Knowledge of maintenance level positions ranging from lawn care and maintenance to general carpentry, electrical, and/or plumbing, to specialized services such as HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in various environments
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
