About the Role: The Berrien County Schools is seeking a skilled Maintenance Craft Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing general craft type jobs to specific specialized skill jobs in order to maintain and improve the facilities of a public school system.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of skills for a variety of trades which allows for effective operation. You should also be able to demonstrate skill in the use and care of the tools and equipment of the maintenance department. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of maintenance Level position for which hired ranging from lawn care & maintenance to general carpentry, electrical, and/or plumbing, to specialized services such as specific maintenance work in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing.
Benefits: This is a full-time position which qualifies for benefits (health and pension). We offer competitive pay at $20 an hour depending on experience/maintenance level/certification & licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the performance of preventive maintenance, emergency repair, or any type of repair in a variety of craft or trade areas
- Assists other Maintenance Level personnel in the performance of their respective duties, as needed
- Consult with Director of Maintenance regarding new installations and modifications of existing systems
