Speech Pathologist – Early Childhood – two days a days – 78 days

Qualifications:

1.          Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License or Educational Limited SLP License

1.          Experience in evaluation and therapy of children with disabilities preferred.
2.          Demonstrated competencies on areas of interpersonal relationships, communication and organization.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Provide screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, intervention and follow-up services for disorders of speech and language

1. Provide training and support to teachers, other professionals and family members of individual with speech, voice, language communication and swallowing disabilities
2. Develop and establish effective augmentative and alternative communication techniques and strategies, including selecting, prescribing and dispensing of aids and devices and training individuals in their use
3. To work with adaptive devices for speaking and swallowing
4. Maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parent, administrators, school personnel and community representatives
5. Maintain required records on each child including regular notes, performance objectives, periodic progress notes, discharge summaries, medicaid logs, etc
6. Maintain accurate and timely records
7. Prepare for and participate in the IEP/IFSP process
8. Demonstrate professional conduct and exhibit professional growth
9. Inform supervisor of student’s progress and programmatic concerns
10. Direct students in clinical or pre-clinical training, volunteers and attendant personnel that may be assigned to him/her
11. Effectively plan and organize duties.
12. Comply with school district policies and procedures
13. Effectively participate in meetings, committees, staffings and other required district and building activities
14. Comply with Medicaid billing procedures

Reports to:                             Supervisor of Birth to Three Services

Terms of Employment:     In accord with the Master Agreement
