Job Description
What you will do:
- Position is active from mid-August through the end of June along with assisting with planning and participating in the College Success Workshop each Summer
- Provide academic, educational pathway and overall support to an assigned group of students through regularly scheduled meeting times
- Maintain ongoing communication with program consultant
- Attend professional development such as the MEMCA conference as deemed necessary
- Participate in new student interviews
- Participate in the EMC Informational Meetings held each December to promote the program
- Work with students to navigate the college portals such as Wired, Wavelink, Canvas, email etc.
- Provide guidance in 5th year with college applications, FAFSA, scholarships, graduation audit
- Provide guidance in career choices
- Works collaboratively to assist EMC students with goal setting and college planning
- Continue support of the student in college success strategies
- Other duties as assigned
Need To Have
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred
- Experience as an advisor, counselor, instructor or mentor preferred
