Description
Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Specialist- MRO
Job Summary:
Perform Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) operations to include combating fires, performing fire prevention activities, safety and compliance inspections, emergency medical interventions and other related duties, as assigned.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preventing, combating, and extinguishing all types of fires, but primarily aircraft fires.
- Handle spill incidents, resulting from storage or handling of aviation, fuels, and lubricants.
- Maintain and operate all types of aircraft rescue, firefighting, and communications equipment.
- Participate in emergency rescue of aircraft accident victims.
- Assist in housekeeping and maintenance of the ARFF equipment and vehicles.
- Provide emergency medical services to company personnel involved in aircraft accidents.
- Participate in fire drills.
- Attend training courses, as required, on firefighting and rescue techniques, fire prevention, first aid, etc.
- Participate in activities related to airfield safety, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years experience as a firefighter,
- Current & compliant structural & ARFF firefighting certifications
- Certification as an EMT-B or higher.
- Certification and training documentation required
Physical requirements:
- Possess the physical strength, agility, coordination of firefighting duties.
- Freedom from uncorrectable physical limitations, which would prevent performance of essential duties.
- Have 20/30 vision with correction and normal color perception.
- Must be able to communicate by radio with clarity.
- Pass a physical examination, administered by an airport selected physician, as required.
