Overview:
The Director of IT Infrastructure will be a key member of senior IT leadership responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, security, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes network architecture, on-premises servers, cloud-based services, Office 365 environment, and end-user computing support.
Based in Franklin, KY, with additional facilities in Riverhead, NY, and Bristol, RI, the Tapes business is a leading manufacturer of pressure-sensitive tapes (specialty, foil, film, and duct) and adhesives. Offering more than 1,500 specialty SKUs across 500 distinct product families to its diverse base of 1,500 customers, the Tapes Business provides specialty tapes and adhesives products to top customers serving the HVAC, Building & Construction, Industrial, Retail, Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, and other specialty industries.
The Director of IT Infrastructure will be a key member of senior IT leadership responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, security, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes network architecture, on-premises servers, cloud-based services, Office 365 environment, and end-user computing support.
A key responsibility of this role is leading the design and implementation of IT infrastructure for a newly divested company, ensuring a smooth transition from the parent organization while establishing a secure, scalable, and independent IT environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT separations (carve-outs), system migrations, and setting up IT environments from the ground up.

Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Setup & IT Strategy
- Lead the separation, migration, and re-establishment of IT systems, networks, and applications from the parent company, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Develop and implement an independent IT strategy, aligning with business goals, industry trends, and compliance frameworks.
- Work with security and compliance resources to ensure IT Infrastructure meets defined regulations and leading practices.
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to align IT initiatives with operational needs and future growth plans.
Network, Security & Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure and scalable IT infrastructure, including networking, on-premises servers, and cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS).
- Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and disaster recovery capabilities for mission-critical systems.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity strategies, including firewalls, endpoint security, intrusion detection, and compliance risk assessments.
- Work with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to optimize networking, hosting, end-user computing, collaboration platforms, telephony, and IT operations.
Office 365 & End-User Support
- Manage administration and integration of the Office 365 environment, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and enterprise applications.
- Oversee IT support teams and service providers to ensure efficient desktop, laptop, and mobile device support.
- Implement endpoint management solutions such as Intune or SCCM.
- Partner with service providers to establish and track IT service desk performance metrics.
Vendor, Budget, & IT Operations Management
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate technology solutions to support business objectives.
- Develop and oversee IT budgets, cost forecasting, procurement processes, and special project expenditures.
- Manage the MSP to ensure contracted services are delivered, service levels are met, and costs are controlled.
- Plan and execute major IT implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology roadmaps.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and mentor IT infrastructure staff, ensuring team development and effective resource allocation.
- Drive innovation and best practices in IT infrastructure and security governance.
- Enhance communication and collaboration between internal teams, vendors, and external clients.
- Champion continuous improvements in IT service delivery, operational efficiency, and cybersecurity resilience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with IT divestitures, carve-outs, and infrastructure separations is highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in network architecture, firewall management, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience managing on-premises servers, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Proficiency in endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
- Experience managing service providers.
- Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM), ITIL frameworks, and helpdesk operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred, with knowledge of ERP systems and industrial IT considerations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
