Underground Construction Laborer - Kokomo
Job Summary
A laborer is responsible for the construction of all underground and aerial utility installations. May be required to work unpredictable hours and working outdoors in all types of weather. This position is production bonus eligible.
General Accountabilities
- Assist Foreman / or Operator in construction work
- Take instruction from the Foreman
- Be responsible for and operate all necessary tools related in the utility industry
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
- Set up all road safety signs, cones and barrels before the job and assure all are accounted for at the end of every day
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
- Clean all trash from job site
- Control traffic
- Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools
- Shoring braces and other temporary structures
- Operate hand and power tools of all types
- Recognize and identify utility locates and meaning
- Always have something to do (i.e., grease equipment, clean trucks / trailer / tools, etc) when “down time” is necessary
