Overview
We are a small practice that is steadily growing. We are looking for an energetic ophthalmic technician to join our group.
Duties
- Conduct preliminary eye exams and vision tests to gather essential patient information.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and functioning.
- Document patient histories and symptoms accurately in electronic health records.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, and fundus photography.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Experience
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures is highly preferred.
- Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous; experience with pediatrics is a plus.
- Understanding of medical coding related to ophthalmic services is beneficial.
- Proficiency in optical equipment operation and maintenance is desirable.
