CARA Tennis Coach

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator(s) - Sports & Programs, the Tennis Head Coach position is responsible for planning and leading the day-to-day tennis activities that take place during the 2025 season. This seasonal position, ranging from 10-20 hours must be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (into afternoons for Friday matches) from June through July. Candidates must be 16 or older to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning tennis activities.
• Conducting team practices and matches.
• Ensures safety regulations and procedures are followed.
• Act as liaison between parents and league.
• Oversee general supervision of assistant coaches.
• Provide a safe and positive environment for participants to practice and compete.
• Must be able to communicate with youth and adults effectively.
• Must be able to travel to and from matches in various locations along the Front Range.

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience may be considered for the position. A typical way to demonstrate the education and experience necessary for the position is:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rules and regulations of tennis is required.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment, and diplomacy.
• Course work in recreation, education, or related field preferred.
• Experience in coaching tennis preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of tennis skills/techniques to efficiently help run the program.
• Experience working with children.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Valid State of Colorado Driver’s License (required)
• CPR/First Aid Certification or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

• Must possess the strength and stamina to perform strenuous physical activity.
