About the Role:
We are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Low Voltage Service Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including security systems, communication networks, audiovisual equipment, and other low voltage electrical systems. This role involves working in various commercial and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems such as security and surveillance systems, access control systems, fire alarms, communication networks, and audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to low voltage systems, including problems with wiring, equipment malfunctions, and connectivity issues.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize the risk of malfunctions.
- System Upgrades: Upgrade and modify existing low voltage systems to meet evolving requirements, technology advancements, or client needs. Stay current with the latest technologies in the low voltage industry.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their low voltage system needs, provide recommendations, and address any concerns professionally.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs. Document system configurations, changes, and updates.
- Collaboration: Work with other technicians, electricians, and project managers to ensure smooth integration of low voltage systems into building projects.
- Compliance: Ensure all installations and maintenance activities adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting low voltage systems.
- Training and Support: Provide training to end-users on system use and maintenance. Offer technical support and address client inquiries or issues promptly.
- Safety Procedures: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with low voltage systems to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Testing: Use testing equipment to verify the functionality of low voltage systems, ensuring proper connectivity, signal strength, and overall performance.
- Flexibility: Adapt to different types of low voltage systems and technologies, and work on various projects, tailoring to the unique requirements of each installation.
