Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures, inventory control systems, and customer service guidelines.
- Analyze daily inventory data to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- Conduct and oversee cycle counting, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Investigate inventory variances, determine root causes, and execute resolution strategies.
- Process returns authorizations, manage product returns, and handle recalls efficiently.
- Provide exceptional support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead monthly physical inventory counts and enforce inventory control procedures.
- Support and execute the inventory cycle count program, coaching employees on accuracy and best practices.
- Work alongside the team to perform hands-on inventory tasks, including counting, organizing, and verifying stock.
- Ensure proper product rotation and consolidation across all locations (FIFO method).
- Collaborate with buyers to maintain adequate material supply for production and the chicken division.
- Report short-dated inventory to Buyers, Warehouse, and Production Managers.
- Verify accurate tagging and labeling of all inventory items.
- Ensure proper completion of departmental documentation and compliance with company policies.
- Accurately count and verify bulk merchandise in warehouse locations.
- Communicate potential shortages and inventory concerns to management promptly.
- Maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP, and GMP policies.
- Work closely with the Inventory Manager and collaborate with Warehouse, Transportation, Sales, and Purchasing teams.
- Perform all duties in a cold storage environment (28°F) and safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, stand-up jack, etc.).
- Follow all workplace safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 2-10 employees per shift, conducting pre-shift meetings and assigning tasks.
- Train new hires, ensuring completion of safety protocols and onboarding checklists.
- Provide leadership and inventory-related guidance to Warehouse, Transportation, Shipping, and Receiving employees.
- Coach and mentor employees on inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and proper handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Adjust employee assignments to accommodate absences and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Assist the inventory manager with approving timesheets and tracking employee attendance.
- Support the Inventory Manager in performance evaluations by providing employee performance and development feedback.
- Foster a productive and team-oriented work environment while meeting operational goals.
- Schedule hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Flexibility to work Saturday as needed, and occasionally Sundays.
