Job Purpose
Evaluation of launch vehicles in a manufacturing environment in order to identify and document ease-of-manufacturing, fit, surface quality, torque, ergonomic, or other "buildability" related problems. Perform base root cause analysis with mechanical analytical/troubleshooting skills. Validate containments or solutions on vehicles as requested.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates product and process changes for assigned issues that require effective networking across multiple departments (design, quality, manufacturing) within the customer’s plant.
- Supports pre-series build of new models to help identify and analyze new model specific problems (manufacturability or dimensional fit issues).
- Provide documentation according to the customer's direction.
- Performs buildability analysis for assigned issues.
- Validates the provided buildability issue solutions and reports the result.
- Adheres to and administers business policies, budgets, procedures, practices and/or review of major projects and assignments.
- Supports the problem-solving process with customer internal and external partners (i.e. procurement, process engineering, design engineering, external suppliers) and presents data or develops possible solutions, evaluates solution.
- Promotes the principles and values of Bertrandt in daily activities and future plans.
- Manages position responsibilities with no or minimum supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering discipline
- Experience reading blueprints
- 1 years of CATIA design experience preferred
- Proficient use of Microsoft tools (i.e, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word)
- Advanced knowledge in problem solving
- PFMEA knowledge is essential
- Valid Driver’s License
