Production Supervisor Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To coordinate and manage internal production and to supervise our production department which houses digital sheet printing, digital wide format, bindery, and shipping workflows.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 12pm- 8:00pm
Salary: $21 to $30 an hour
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have printshop experience.
- Valid driver license.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong Computer Skills with experience in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) including, but not limited to email correspondence, scheduling in outlook calendar, Excel worksheets with formulas/calculations. Strong Computer Skills
- Experience with press equipment and operation.
- Experience with bindery equipment and operation.
- Experience with office management and printing/production environments.
- Experience with shipping equipment and software
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends if required.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from staff.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to the full 8 to 10-hour shift with short breaks.
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects and use of various tools.
- Ability to continually learn and grow with technical skills and adapt to newer technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in tandem with production personnel on equipment and jobs.
- Assure jobs are produced correctly and at expected run rates for maximum output. Perform quality control measures to verify jobs are accurate.
- Recommend measures to improve product quality, production methods and equipment performance to continue to increase the efficiency of the production department
- Work with our various, bindery equipment, shipping equipment, and their accompanying software
- Create and Maintain training guides, short-cut signs, and safety signs for for all production stations and equipment
- Ensure all employees are properly trained on all stations, and create training program where employees are tested and certified by production manager, prior to being utilized for that production station.
- Oversee product that is being delivered or shipped out that it is accurate and packaged correctly.
- Prioritize print jobs real-time to ensure the most urgent jobs are completed first and intime for on-time delivery
- Work with vendors that are used for production equipment/troubleshooting, parts, labor and maintenance if necessary. Order supplies, equipment, parts if necessary.
- Be able to perform all production tasks as needed and serve as back up when there is a labor shortage in any department
- Analyze and resolve work problems and assists workers in solving work problems
- Conduct or train team members to conduct regular maintenance of all machinery if required.
- Supervise production staff, monitor performance, maintain project schedules, communicate with other managers regarding expected completions and/or delays in projects.
- Manage department employee schedules by publishing, maintaining, and moderating schedules and schedule requests.
- Keep production area neatly organized; insure organized shop and warehouse environments for efficiency and safety.
- Conduct monthly inventory counts and report to accounting
- Create and send purchase orders to accounting and purchasing departments when inventory is low to ensure inventory is replenished on a regular basis.
- Safely operate all equipment and follow all work rules, including adherence to dress code guidelines.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all Company staff.
- Help the Company grow and achieve its revenue and production goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
