Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically-inclined individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Preventative Maintenance Mechanic. In this role, you will assist in the regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of medium duty trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent unexpected breakdowns. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of mechanical systems, a strong willingness to learn, and a commitment to keeping equipment running efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, medium duty trucks, and equipment according to maintenance schedules.
- Identify potential issues or malfunctions and perform basic repairs or adjustments to prevent equipment failure.
- Assist in the replacement of worn or damaged components and parts as needed.
- Document maintenance work performed, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper handling of tools and equipment.
- Assist senior maintenance staff with troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have valid driver's license
- CDL is preferred but not required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in mechanical or maintenance work (internship or previous roles) is a plus but not required.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair equipment.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
- Ability to travel as needed
