Job Description
Green Lake Nursery, established in 1983, is a producer of annual, perennials, and flowering shrubs along with ferns, groundcovers, succulents, grasses, xeric plants, and vines for the Texas market. We have 450K square feet of greenhouse and about 10 acres of outdoor production space at our Dallas locations. In addition, we are in our second year of operation at our San Marcos location.
We propagate items for our internal use at our Dallas and San Marcos locations and buy URC from the main suppliers in the industry. We also hold stock and produce in-house items that are not commercially available. We are orientating our mix to include native and adaptable plants for our region.
We are known for offering a wide selection of materials sold into garden centers, wholesale nurseries, landscape contractors, ground maintenance companies, and botanical gardens throughout Texas. Along with well-adapted plants and friendly accommodating delivery service, Green Lake retains a keen and adept staff that holds their customers' needs in the highest regard.
LOCATION : San Marcos, TX
REPORTS TO : Ownership
SUPERVISE OTHERS : Indirectly
TRAVEL : Less than 25%

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluate finished crops for improvements and confirm that grow times are hitting sales / delivery windows.
- Collaborate with other departments to explore changes for more efficient crop plans and communicate schedule changes.
- Advocate changes for future success including suggestions of new plant additions and program development.
- Maintain and improve high levels of customer service that provide value for our customers. This involves ensuring that customer phone calls are answered or returned in a reasonable time.
- Develop accurate annual sales forecasting.
- Evaluate pricing of crops for profitability and raising production costs.
- Work with the production department & order pulling department on hard good choices for value adding items including pots, trellises, tags, sleeves, etc.
- Work with accounting department on accounts receivable
- Work with order pulling & delivery department to have orders ready by agreed time, and work with customers to prevent overloading our capacities.
- Work with delivery departments to set delivery fees, efficient routs, and order volumes

- Notify problems to proper channels if issues occur that hinder sales or reduce the value of our products.
- Recruit new sales representatives and develop their onboard plans.
- Coach / mentor, assess performance, and provide feedback to sales representatives.
- Develop SOPs for sales representatives and hold them accountable for adherence and revenue changes.
