Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced On-Site Manager to oversee our 24-hour, 5-6 day a week operation. The manager will work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with on-call responsibilities if the customer is operational.
This role requires a hands-on approach managing a fleet of 23 tractors and drivers, and 100 trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate schedules for drivers and equipment.
- Maintain strong relationships with the customer, acting as the primary point of contact for any operational issues or concerns.
- Monitor and manage the performance of drivers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct minor equipment troubleshooting to help reduce maintenance expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Handle any emergency situations that may arise, including after hours.
Qualifications:
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
- Previous experience in the transportation or logistics industry, particularly in management or supervisory roles.
- A strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to perform minor equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.
