Service Writer/Advisor

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between them and our service technicians. This role is crucial in ensuring that customer needs are met promptly and effectively while providing exceptional service in automotive and commercial maintenance and repair.

Estimated 40-50 hrs/wk, up to 12 hrs/day (weekly and daily hours will vary per business volume). Store manager will assign hours. Must be available during company’s business hours.

Duties

• Greet customers and assess their service needs, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they arrive.
• Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues to relay to service technicians.
• Provide detailed estimates for repairs and maintenance services, including upselling additional services when appropriate.
• Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further questions or concerns.
• Stay informed about automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and industry trends to provide knowledgeable recommendations.

Skills

• Proficiency in service writing with a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
• Experience as a service technician is preferred, particularly with automotive and commercial tire service.
• Strong upselling skills to promote additional services that enhance vehicle performance.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics to accurately assess customer needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively transmit information between customers and technicians.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
