What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Specialist position at Best Point Education & Behavioral Health?
This position will work at our Madisonville Campus
Best Point is seeking an individual to develop, implement and manage all intake and admission functions and processes for the Mental Health Services Department. This position is:
- Responsible for processing and addressing all inquiries, referrals, and initial requests for information. Responsible for ensuring consent forms and intake documentation packet is complete. Responsible for ensuring that client intake appointments are scheduled.
- Assumes responsibility for the initial authorizations of care from managed care entities. Responsible for researching requested Mental Health information.
- Responsible for obtaining an understanding of client’s presenting picture as well as referral source’s requests. Responsible for understanding client’s need and ensuring that additional service, if necessary, is in place.
- Contacts families to set up intake appointments. Answers questions and assists families through the intake process
- Collaborates with outside entities to promote effective customer service at all times. Maintains contact with referral sources and other organizations as required. Promotes expansion of referral base.
Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:
This position requires an Associate’s degree plus two years professional experience in a Human Services environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in child welfare and mental health is also preferred. Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.
