Controller

Best Veterinary Solutions, Inc., has an immediate opening for a Controller within our finance team. In this position you will oversee BVS accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity. This position will manage financial reporting, tax compliance, and cost accounting while driving process improvements.

This position can be based in our Corporate Office in Ellsworth, Iowa or our new facility in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end/year-end close and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Manage tax compliance (sales, property, franchise tax).
• Supervise accounting staff and expense programs.
• Support manufacturing and supply chain with financial guidance.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs for products.
• Strengthen internal controls and enhance financial systems.
• Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide financial insights for strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a federal background check.
• Strong GAAP, managerial, and cost accounting knowledge.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred).
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and adaptability.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/CMA preferred.
• 7 years of accounting experience, 2 in leadership (manufacturing/distribution).
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
