Job Summary: The role involves overseeing and participating in all aspects of hotel operations, which include guest relations, front desk management, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast services, bistro/lobby bar, sales, team building, and staff development. The individual will be responsible for all phases of hotel management, encompassing sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage management, and financial forecasting. The position empowers associates to deliver exceptional customer care to guests, staff, and other visitors. Annual salary starts at $50,000 to $60,000, DOQ.
Job Duties Summary:
- Recruit, select, train, and manage employees to provide exceptional guest services and quality products, aiming to maximize revenue and profitability goals.
- Create and maintain customer-focused operations, empowering hotel staff to excel in delivering outstanding customer care.
- Implement and oversee the hotel’s annual budget and long-term business plan, ensuring the achievement or surpassing of budgeted sales and maximizing profitability.
- Collaborate with the Property Revenue Manager to provide insights based on forecasts and activities.
- Work with the Sales team to prepare for meeting room setups and breakdowns, catering, day-of meet and greet events, billing, and addressing the needs of meetings while in-house.
- Demonstrate the ability to work hands-on in various departments as needed, including covering front desk shifts or assisting in other areas to prevent operational disruptions.
- Safeguard the hotel’s financial assets by properly administering policies and procedures for handling cash, credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and all other financial transactions. Additionally, ensure policies and procedures are in place to protect the safety of both guests and employees.
- Communicate with and prepare reports for hotel owners.
- Ensure regular assessments and reviews of all hotel personnel by the appropriate management staff. Coordinate and deliver internal training and development programs.
- Maintain high visibility throughout the property.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, professionalism, and service are achieved to help maintain high quality assurance (QA) scores and positive guest reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Hotel Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of hotel management or supervisory experience, with a comprehensive understanding of front office operations preferred.
- Knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
- Strong leadership skills and a professional demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in various computer software applications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and both day and evening shifts, as business needs require.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, push, pull, bend, reach, climb stairs, and communicate clearly.
