The Best Western Mountain View Inn (located right off of exit 261 in Springville) is looking to hire additional front desk staff for the night audit. Currently our need is for a full-time employee to work Sunday and Monday overnights (11pm-7am), and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons (3pm-11pm).

OUR HOTEL

Our hotel serves travelers of all sorts, in no small part due to our convenient location right off of I-15. As a comparatively small (55 room) hotel, we differentiate our property through our spacious rooms, top-notch housekeeping, quality breakfast, and friendly staff.

THE JOB ROLE

Though front desk staff assist with a variety of tasks, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Help guests feel welcome at our property as you walk them through the check-in process.
  • Answer guest questions and, where applicable, resolve guest concerns.
  • Work the phones and the reservation system to help guests make, alter, or cancel reservations.
  • Occasionally run items to rooms (e.g., towels, extra blankets, etc.)
  • Run the night audit

COMPENSATION

We start all front desk staff at $11/ hour for the first 90 days. After this 90-day period, there is an evaluation for a raise. Afterwards, staff receive regular evaluations which include the opportunity for raises.

As a Best Western staff member, you would also be eligible for steeply discounted stays at Best Westerns around the world.

And lastly, this job does allow some discretionary time. Many of our employees have been students who appreciate the opportunity to do homework or similar tasks if the desk isn't busy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Being friendly and up-beat makes a huge difference in the guest experience, since you are often the first person the guest meets at our property.
  • The ability to navigate complex (and sometimes confusing) software is a must. Our reservation system (AutoClerk) is where you'll do most of your work!
  • Being personable and energetic on the phone is important, since you'll be handling a variety of phone calls from current and future guests.
  • Attention to detail is also crucial. Whether it's handling cash, processing payments, recalling procedures, marking rooms correctly, or doing one of a dozen other tasks, your accuracy and attentiveness can help prevent a lot of headaches.
