About the Role:
This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to leverage your financial expertise in a fast-paced environment reporting directly to the Corporate Controller you will shape the future financial stability and growth of Bestop. You'll be the architect of financial acuity, directly contributing to our success through accurate reporting, insightful analysis, efficiencies in processes, and robust control systems.
What You'll Do:
- Comprehensive Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting (internal/external monthly statements, annual audits, budgets). Analyze financial data, including cost accounting, tooling inventory, and capital expenditures, to identify trends, develop KPIs, and provide actionable insights. Prepare variance and costing reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Month-End & Year-End Mastery: Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, fixed asset approvals, and comprehensive financial report preparation.
- Accounting Operations: Lead the accounting functions, ensuring efficient execution of all accounting processes: payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliations, asset tracking, and statutory reporting.
- Control & Compliance Excellence: Control internal and external auditing procedures, ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance standards. Develop and maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
- Tax & Asset Management: Handle federal, state, property, and sales & use tax responsibilities. Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, participate in physical inventory counts (fixed assets and tooling), and reconcile capital expenditures.
- Insurance & Risk Management: Prepare and monitor insurance information for corporate risk management, process insurance certificates, and maintain records for motor vehicle registrations. Reconcile customer pricing.
What You'll Need:
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite preferred.
