BETA is currently seeking a motivated Active Transportation GIS Analyst with Transportation Planning experience to join our team. The successful candidate will provide GIS support on projects within the public right of way including mapping and analysis of bicycle and pedestrian network features. Responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination and advancement of multiple municipal and state related projects
- Conduct geospatial mapping, GIS data analyses, asset planning, and project prioritization
- Develop, support, and provide training with ESRI based web applications (WebApps, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123, etc)
- Provide effective contributions to a team environment to develop geographic database structures, tables, forms, and reports
- Roadway Asset Management such as geospatial data modeling, scrubbing, manipulation, hierarchies, maintenance, and relationships
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
- Work collaboratively with other office/discipline staff and/or project managers
- Develop and retain positive client relationships
- Anticipate client needs and articulate client expectations
Preferred location is BETA’s Lincoln office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations.

Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience with a solid understanding of technical application, concepts, principals, and theories in GIS
- Experience with ESRI suite of tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, etc.)
- Extensive experience in GIS map generation and visualization
- Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) and the Public Right of Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
