Position Overview

The Vice President of Creative Services serves as the strategic leader for Betallic’s creative team which includes a production manager, graphic/production artists, and experienced designers. Your team is responsible for product design, the creation of marketing materials, as well as internal creative needs. The V.P. of Creative Services must be able to identify quality design work and important trends. This role requires effective management of multiple creators and an ability to keep the team on task and meet deadlines. It is an exciting opportunity to guide a product from concept through production and sales. Good communication skills are a must as the V.P. of Creative will work alongside the sales team and marketing team to react to marketplace conditions and meet the company’s needs. In this position, you will play a crucial role in defining the Betallic brand.

Qualifications:

You are an important contributor to the creative strategy and creative vision for Betallic/BoxCo.

  • You establish strategic alignment – Collaborate with leadership to integrate our creative pillars (art, interactivity, brand) with business needs. Define project-based creative strategies and goals to develop, design and implement exceptional balloon experiences.
  • You give creative guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the creative department effectively articulates and implements defined creative strategies and goals.
  • You create space for artistic development (creative messiness, art making, and creative expression) balancing and aligning it with the broader creative vision, goals and priorities of the project.
  • You drive innovation within the creative department, guided by broader company-wide creative vision and strategies, building paths for evolution.
  • You hold the creative perspective when evaluating and making decisions with consideration to operational, marketing and financial needs or constraints.
  • You are interested in Betallic/BoxCo because you want to serve as the key creative decision maker for the company.

  • You are highly creative, a strategic thinker with deep experience in immersive art and innovative experiences and have a passion for advancing the form.
  • You build and maintain collaborative relationships with fellow leaders, internal stakeholders, external partners, artists, and others to foster a collaborative and supportive creative environment.
  • As a key executive leader, you collaborate on and are responsible for implementing the strategy, goals and priorities set by leadership.
  • You are an expert in risk identification, and risk mitigation of projects, as well as the processes and structures that will optimize overall project delivery and the effectiveness of our project teams.
  • You stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in the fields of art, technology, and immersive experiences, integrating new ideas and approaches into our creative work.
  • You have excellent creative presentation skills and the desire to develop and hone those skills within the creative department.

You instill excellence in the Creative Direction team and their creative practices.

  • You are both their manager and their mentor.
  • You lead the development and clarification of processes, practices, and tools that enable your people to deliver consistently excellent and timely work on their projects.
  • You hone the creative quality standards and the communication of those standards so that all our teams have confidence that they understand the company's expectations.
  • You design, lead and contribute to creative reviews, charettes, pinups, desk critiques and other applicable types of creative assessment, discussions, feedback, and direction throughout the creative process.
  • You manage department resources to ensure availability of talent and continuity of work.
  • You steadily communicate company goals and priorities to your department and guide the application of them to your department’s work.
  • You create the internal pipeline for growth opportunities and leadership development of your team, and when required, you lead the hiring of best-in-class talent with demonstrable experience integrating art, technology, story and playful interactives.
  • You are interested in pushing the limits of what is possible creatively and technologically. You are recognized by your peers as an innovator, and you are passionate about what technology makes possible.
  • You are an accessible and present leader, actively aware of all the projects’ creative work, available for consultation for the teams, and the provider of compassionate, clear, and constructive feedback and direction.
  • You provide effective individual feedback to your reports through substantive 1:1s and annual performance reviews, and other effective performance management strategies.
  • You champion a culture of inclusion and belonging, feedback and recognition, transparency and communication, trust and collaboration, and delegation and empowerment.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in design software and tools relevant to the industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative leadership.
  • Experience in product development and marketing material creation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, marketing or advertising.
