Job Description
SUMMARY:
There is a $1000. sign-on bonus for this position.
The Family Coach provides supervised visitation for families whose children are in foster care placement through local children and youth agencies. Using the Marty Beyer coaching model, coaches seek to empower parents by building on strengths, supporting empathetic responses in meeting children's needs, be responsive to children's developmental needs, and be an active parent. Visits will include pre and post visit contacts to support parents' goals, role modeling and providing parenting education as needed. Family coaches conduct intake meetings with assigned families, provide visitation schedule oversight, supervise visits in the home, office and/or community, coach parents in visits and communicate regularly with the provider agency worker. The Family Coach is responsible for completing the required documentation. The locations for visit are primarily in Lancaster County.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Workers will have a Bachelor or Master degree in the field of Human Services or a related field. Experience in child welfare or a counseling setting is expected. Evenings and some Saturdays are required.
