Description
Bethany Athletic Club's new childcare center Bkids, seeks Teaching Assistants to join the Bkids team! The successful candidates will collaborate with the teaching team to support student's learning and healthy development, adhering to OCD's licensure requirements.
Schedule: M-Fri
Pay: $19.00- $19.50
Shift: FT
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children.
- Help maintain classroom cleanliness and assist with classroom set up.
- Help positive classroom environment and assist with lesson plans.
- Assist with general routine care of children and follow a consistent routine.
- Help implement behavior management strategies to address individual needs and promote positive behavior.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Certified in CPR/First Aid
- Highly motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent management and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) from college or university with a major in:
- Early childhood education
- Child development
- Associate’s Degree (AS/AA) from a college with a major in:
- Early childhood education
- Child development
- A one-year state or nationally recognized credential related to infant and toddler care.
- Completion of 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college or university in:
- Early childhood education
- Child Development
- AND at least one year of qualifying teacher experience* in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program, in the care of infant and/or toddlers
- At least two years of qualifying teaching experience*, with at least one year as a teacher, in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program, in the care of infant and/or toddlers
TRAINING:
- Head teachers must have completed OCC approved health and safety training (before having unsupervised access to children)
- Have completed a minimum of two hours of training on child abuse and neglect that is specific to Oregon law before they can have unsupervised access to children.
- If the center is certified to care for infants, the head teacher must have completed OCC approved safe sleep training.
