Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

- Prepare and assess budgets for grants, contracts, and other internal purposes; inquire when irregularities exist and seek creative solutions to minimize losses;
- Assist offices in launching and maintaining their grants in relation to following their budgets and problem-solving incongruencies with grantors;
- Report monthly financial results to agency leadership; may produce invoices and cost reports to contractors and grantors;
- Regularly review and compare budgets to actual results and provide forecasts; perform complex data and trend analysis by gathering, tracking, and analyzing data. Make recommendations based on the results;
- Communicate and collaborate with a wide range of staff to gather data and to provide suggestions and recommendations;
- Oversee budget allowability and adherence to the budget during the life of the award; Ensure the local branch also understands the terms of the contract or grant to form a united understanding;
- Assist branch offices by effectively performing technical matters to include billing, time reporting, and expense reporting. Train new staff on finance and budget matters;
- Serve as a resource to branches by providing detailed guidance and instruction regarding proposal preparation and administration;
- Provide assistance with audit compliance for out-side of agency subcontractors;
- Successfully engage in multiple projects simultaneously;
- Have a solid understanding of Bethany’s accounting system and procedures;
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources;
- Complete long term and short-term projects as requested by the Chief Financial Officer or Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college;
- At least one (1) year of accounting or similar experience, budget preparation, and/or financial reporting experience;
- Prior work experience with federal awards, preferred;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated problem-solving and task management skills;
- Strong financial and analytical ability with solid organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
- Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with excellent skills within Excel;
- Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
- Active motor vehicle license and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment.
