Job Description
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
- Director of Information Technology
PURPOSE:
- This position will assist in maintaining and supporting all aspects of the Bethany College Information Technology Department related to its core systems and software. This position will be responsible for understanding the day-to-day use of Data and IT systems and software as necessary to support all users. Responsible for overseeing and managing data-related tasks, ensuring data accuracy, organization, and accessibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- oversee Jenzabar systems and software implementations/upgrades
- Provide Jenzabar systems training as needed during software upgrades / new software implementations.
- Assist with new software configuration/user setups as needed.
- Provide database mapping/conversion expertise between existing systems for upgrades.
- Assist in implementing departmental plans and goals.
- Collaborate with the Director to coordinate and execute daily IT operations.
- Diagnose user computer problems and provide resolutions.
- Set up computer equipment and educate users on the use of college-provided hardware.
- Stay current on industry standards and best practices to make informed recommendations for future upgrades and anticipate needs to stay up-to-date.
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues to users.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Work in collaboration and cooperation with other departments and academic divisions on campus, using timely and appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department concerns and responsibilities

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of Databases, hardware, and software operating systems, and be able to work independently while also collaborating and prioritizing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. A working knowledge of Data Retention Policies is a plus. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with users in non-technical language and translate it into technical requirements as needed. Communication skills require the ability to adjust to users’ various levels of experience. Report writing and presentation skills are a plus.
RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in a technology field or equivalent working experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a technology field
- Familiar with MSSQL Databases and Queries
- Working knowledge of SQL to extract data for reporting purposes
- Working knowledge of Jenzabar student information systems
- Experience in all phases of the Computer Software lifecycle
- Experience in 3rd Party Software implementations
- Working knowledge of Security Protocols and Threats
- Excellent project management skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Product Suite
- Experience with sensitive data/confidentiality requirements
- Regular attendance required
- Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be very results-oriented
- Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating hazardous equipment or working with chemicals; however, it includes exposure to biological hazards, including bacteria and communicable diseases. Work outside involves considerable exposure to various elements, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Work performed indoors typically occurs in ambient room temperatures, with standard lighting and traditional office equipment, as found in a typical office environment.

LOCATION: Bethany College Campus, On-Site Office with shared support during typical business hours and minimal evenings and weekends as necessary for special needs and events.
