The Physical Education Teacher provides an instructional program that will engage students in sports competitions and other physical activities, stressing the importance of maintaining a healthy way of life through both exercise and positive lifestyle choices.
Salary Range: $55,144 to $95,335 per current Bethany Education Association Contract
Benefits: Comprehensive Health and Welfare Benefits per the current Bethany Education Association Contract.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification in Physical Education (044, 201) is required and Health (043, 072, 201) is preferred.
- Experience in providing physical education and health instruction in an elementary setting is preferred.
- Experience with developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based teaching and learning.
- Experience with the Data Team process is preferred.
- Experience with Scientific Research-Based Intervention (SRBI) is preferred.
- Certification in Physical Management Training (PMT) is preferred.
- Strong organizational, recordkeeping, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must possess good judgment in the supervision of, management of, and communication with students.
The Bethany Community School is an elementary school (grades PK to 6) located in central Bethany on an extensive rural campus. The school offers a supportive leadership team and staff and extensive instructional resources.
