Job Description: Lead Teacher
General Description of Work:
Responsible for the supervision and implementation of all classroom activities according to the MN Rule 3 standards and regulations for the specific age group of children at BCCC.
Classroom Facilitation:
- Provide direct care in one of the classrooms
- Plan individualized developmental curriculum for the age in the classroom
- Provide all necessary care for each child's needs: eating, sleeping, diapering, nurturing and behavior guidance.
- Record observations of each child to aid in the development of individualized curriculum plans.
- Document behavior concerns and report to the director.
- Share developmental progress with parents as appropriate and 2 times per year for conferences.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and sanitary classroom at all times.
- Provide classroom-specific training for assistant teachers and aides. Provide supervision of student teachers and volunteers assigned to the classroom.
- Participate in all training deemed necessary by the BCCC director and as required by the State of MN for certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be lead teacher qualified according to the MN Rule 3 requirements
- Must demonstrate competence and share knowledge of child care and development through planning and interacting with children.
- Willingness and desire to enhance knowledge and abilities in early childhood education.
- Agreement with BCCC program and willingness to model the program in word and action including a willingness to participate in the evaluation component.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
