Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Design, implement and lead HR programs to meet the needs of Hangers of Hope, Includes all areas of HR: Organizational Development, Executive Coaching, Risk Mitigation, Policy & Compliance, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Training and Development, On-boarding and Orientation
- Coordinate and conduct onboarding and orientation programs for new hires
- Build partnerships with community organizations and vocational programs to expand applicant pools
- Assist with interviewing and hiring new team members (ADP experience is a plus)
Compensation
- Manage payroll budget in alignment with budget and financial goals
- Develop and implement salary bands to ensure pay equity and transparency within the organization.
- Conduct market research to establish competitive pay ranges for various roles
HR Operations & Compliance
- Review and implement new human resources policies in alignment with the mission, values, and goals of Hangers of Hope
- Handle day-to-day employee relations issues, investigations, and corrective actions
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Oversee unemployment claims, workers' compensation, and leave administration
Training & Development
- Develop a training program to assist with internal promotions and onboarding new employees effectively
- Train managers in effective leadership, performance coaching, and policy compliance
- Support cross-functional development programs to enhance organizational capacity
Strategic Planning & HR Leadership
- Strategize Human Resources initiatives to reinforce the Mission, Vision, Core Values and goals of Bethesda.
- Analyze HR metrics and recommend policy or process improvements
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Develop & Implement an employee evaluation structure
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Experience working in a nonprofit and/or retail environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, employment practices, workers' compensation, and unemployment processes
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
Work Environment:
- This position operates in both administrative office settings and thrift store environments
- Travel between store locations required
- Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for training or events

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
1. Full time Monday – Friday, some Saturdays, 40 hours per week.
2. Attendance at specific meetings or off-site events or training may be required.

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
