Sr. Team Lead Shipping & Warehouse

Essential Functions:

1. Supervise the activities of the Shipping, Warehouse & Receiving Department and the team members to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
2. Provide daily reporting for Departmental KPI’s.
3. Ensure that a disciplined and organized cycle count program is followed for all Bettcher Ohio inventories.
4. Coordinate the movement of all materials to and from warehouse.
5. Ensure all incoming product is received from vendors and recorded accurately.
6. Ensure all outgoing finished products are shipped on time; review shortages daily and coordinate with customer service, planning, scheduling, VSM etc
7. Participate in team problem solving activities and process improvement activities (RCCM, Pareto, Kaizen, etc.)
8. Assist with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity, and cost reduction goals.
9. Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
10. Provide direction and leadership to department associates achieved through consistent effective communication.
11. Drive accountability with department associates on the completion of tasks.
12. Assist in personnel actions for the department including:
    1. Recruitment: Regularly assess and evaluate department manning levels/usage and make recommendations to the Value Steam Manager and Human Resources as needed.
    2. Training/Development: Assist in development and implementation of department- related training.
    3. Performance Management: Complete individual work team performance reviews and provide mentoring, coaching and development for associates.
    4. Employee Relations: Provide formal/informal performance related counseling to associates.
    5. Safety: Assure all direct reports are aware of their EH&S responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Assist Value Stream Manager with supervising a team of hourly associates during work hours and escalating to Value Stream Manager during non-work hours as appropriate.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in Warehouse Management, Inventory, Cycle counting

and Delivery, Operations within a warehouse environment.

• 3 years previous experience in a strong leadership role, supervising front line employees strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point helpful.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong interpersonal & supervisory skills.
• Organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficient in conflict resolution.
• Ability to effectively delegate tasks to department associates.
• Ability and willingness to take initiative to ensure shipping/warehouse/receiving departments runs efficiently.
• Possess a basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)

Working Conditions:

• This job operates in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely is in an air-conditioned environment with exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.  This role will be required to wear safety attire on a daily basis. Exposure to contaminants and hazardous equipment.
