Job Summary
Better Being is looking for an Operations Supervisor to supervise and coordinate activities of workers. As well as prepare and study production schedules, and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. The Operations Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager. The work schedule for this opening is Monday - Thursday, 3:00PM - 2:00AM.
Essential Functions
- Supervises and directs personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
- Trains, evaluates, and reviews operators.
- Organizes work for smooth operations.
- Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Verifies correct identification, weights, and warehousing of products.
- Verifies that paperwork is properly completed and filed.
- Supervises loading and unloading of trucks and verifies that paperwork is correctly signed.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
- Troubleshoots problems.
- Perform functions as required
- Responsible for overseeing sanitation practices to ensure equipment and facilities meet acceptable quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- May supervise loading and unloading of trucks.
- Develops among assigned personnel a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Company commitments often demand timely, innovative thinking and actions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to use and understand production and inventory control software and standard office software such as spreadsheets, e-mail and word processors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Requires overall knowledge of milling process, forklifts, scales, standard test equipment, and production processes. Requires overall knowledge of manufacturing processes, material handling and measurement equipment.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
