Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Quality to join our leadership team. This newly created role is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of organizational quality and patient safety initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, the Director will oversee regulatory compliance, disease-specific certifications, patient satisfaction efforts, public quality reporting, and national quality designations. The role also includes managing the Infection Prevention team and Disease-Specific team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all quality and performance improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including The Joint Commission, CMS, and State of New Mexico regulations.
- Oversee efforts related to Leapfrog, patient satisfaction, and public reporting.
- Maintain readiness for all surveys and manage accreditations and certifications.
- Supervise and mentor quality department staff; ensure team development and retention.
- Develop and manage department budgets and monitor productivity.
- Implement and track quality initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, and department heads to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:Required:
- Active RN license in the state of New Mexico or eligibility to obtain.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of healthcare experience, with at least three (3) years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating successful quality initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Prior experience in a for-profit hospital setting preferred.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as MSN, MBA, or a degree in Healthcare Administration.
- Previous experience working with regulatory agencies in an acute care environment.
- Experience managing department budgets and leading productivity initiatives.
