Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various medical environments, including PICU, Level I Trauma Centers, and emergency medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients in mobility and transportation needs within the facility or home setting.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in inpatient settings, including medical-surgical units and hospital medicine departments.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in personal care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and experience working within teaching hospitals or emergency medicine environments is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on patient care.
