Betts Truck Parts & Service is actively recruiting for a committed Warehouse Lead to join our San Leandro branch. This pivotal role entails verifying and maintaining records for both incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as preparing items for shipment. Moreover, the Warehouse Lead will supervise the activities of other team members within the warehouse department. Collaborating closely with the Branch Manager, this position involves training new team members and upholding a safe work environment. Effective communication with other departments is essential to facilitate seamless and uninterrupted daily warehouse operations.

Betts is a family-owned company in business for over 150 years. We specialize in parts and service work for suspensions, brakes, wheel ends, and more on a variety of vehicles. We currently operate 8 locations on the West Coast, our truck repair services include laser alignments, steering and drivetrain repairs, Bendix retrofit anti-collision safety system installation, DOT and BIT inspections, leaf spring repair and replacement, truck suspension repair, truck axle and trailer axle repair, brake repair service, hydraulic hoses, custom u-bolts, and more!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Inspects incoming and outgoing shipments, matching identifying information with bills of lading, invoices, or orders.

Validates stock conformity to specifications and rejects damaged items, noting shortages, and liaising with shippers for resolution.

Organizes storage of parts based on identifying details like style, size, or type, marking them with codes or letters.

Determines optimal storage methods by considering factors such as temperature, humidity, and weight limits.

Selects efficient and economical packaging methods for shipments to preserve product quality.

Retrieves items listed on pick tickets or transfer documents from stock, ensuring accuracy.

Label crates or containers with identifying information and shipping instructions.

Verifies outgoing shipments for compliance with specifications and prepares shipping documents for various carriers.

Maintains inventory of shipping materials and operates lift trucks to handle merchandise, supplies, and equipment.

Utilizes lift trucks or hand trucks to move shipments to storage or work areas.

Conducts periodic inventory checks and reports adjustments, stock damage, or location changes.

Alert management to any equipment issues or unsafe conditions encountered during duties.

Keeps inventory and stock records updated and maintains a tidy work environment.

Requirements :

Possession of a valid Driver's license.

Proficiency in computer operation, including experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.

Minimum of 3 - 4 years' of experience in warehouse lead and / or manager role.

Demonstrated leadership abilities within a warehouse environment.

Exceptional organizational and time management proficiencies.

Strong problem-solving aptitude and effective decision-making skills.

Competence in operating both pallet jacks and forklifts.

Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
