Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Process and maintain all SALs for Facility, including corrections and update daily into the CMHC system.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility for services rendered.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain and update financial records and billing databases.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies related to billing.
- Post all payments billed to DMH.
- Research Not Billed items for POS, Medicaid, and Medicare and make corrections where possible and send remaining items to Clinical area for correction.
- Review error bucket items daily and correct.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in billing or a related field, preferably in healthcare.
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
