Custodian (BZ)

Applications are being accepted for an 8-hour custodian position at Betz Elementary School. The custodian is responsible for the general care and upkeep of assigned buildings, grounds, and equipment areas.  Duties include fundamental cleaning skills, lifting, following directions, and the ability to physically handle the setup and teardown of activity events. To a lesser extent, the custodian assists with maintenance support.  The custodian's assignment is subject to changes in areas and duties within this job description.  The custodian is responsible for carrying out the instructions of the custodial leader and the building administrator. In addition, the candidate may be required to mow, trim hedges, and remove snow, which may require working flexible hours in inclement weather.  Candidates must enjoy working around children and work well with others as a team.  Previous experience is preferred but not required to apply for this position.  Required qualifications are that the applicant does not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations and must be capable of regularly attending to the assigned position duties.  This position is subject to a veteran's preference.  Duty hours are typically from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday.
