Wage: $18.13/hr.
Schedule: 8-hour days, 5 days a week
Metroconnects people, places, and opportunities through quality transit services. This role reports to the Custodial Supervisor. Responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance of the facilities and vehicles, which could include the entire building and ancillary locations such as shelters, stations, and transit centers, buses, and service vehicles. Custodian Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in cleaning primary and ancillary locations.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record to meet insurance standards.
- Able to pass physical and back screen; drug screen and complete an extensive background check.
- Must possess stable and verifiable work history, with exceptional record of attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of cleaning products and minor repairs of machines and tools.
- Possess a high-level of cleanliness.
- Have the ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
- Must possess stable and verifiable work history, with exceptional record of attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Custodian Essential Duties:
- Regular and predictable performance of essential job functions.
- Clean, dust, and wipe down furniture and fixtures; empty wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and urns; inventory/replace water dispenser bottles; pick up and disposal of litter adjacent to facilities, change light bulbs; clean, wash, and disinfect drinking fountains, coffee machines, vending machines, desks, and other areas. Clean, dust, wipe down, mop and sweep bus and vehicle interiors.
- Vacuum, shampoo, and spot clean carpets.
- Sweep, strip, mop, and buff solid surface floors.
- Wash/wipe interior and exterior windows and mirrors
- Coordinate resources for the set up and take down of furniture, supplies, tools and equipment for office and meeting room use.
- Clean and sanitize facility restrooms using established practices and procedures.
- Restock disposables such as paper supplies, sanitizer, and soap as needed.
- Comply with all safety and health rules and follow label instructions regarding caustic chemicals and cleaning supplies. Store and handle in a protected and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and the public. Maintain inventories and associated equipment.
- Report on cleaning/maintenance activities and needs.
- Respond to service calls for custodial assistance.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Secure primary and ancillary locations, by locking doors, windows, and gates and setting alarms where applicable.
- Other related duties as assigned.
