We are seeking an experienced and creative Park Supervisor to join our team. Position will be responsible to manage and supervise of maintenance, improvements, repairs, and operations of the parks and facilities owned by the Beulah Park District (BPD).
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the individual within this classification. Responsibilities:
· Participants in daily activities related to the maintenance of BPD facilities and grounds
· Assists in training and supervising part-time and seasonal maintenance staff.
· Follow all BPD ordinances, policies and procedures, including, federal and state laws, safety protocols, and BPD handbook.
· Purchases over $500.00 must be approved by the BPD Director and turn in all receipts in a timely manner.
· Performs landscaping maintenance duties.
· Operates a variety of maintenance equipment such as: mowers, tractors, trucks, shop equipment, trimmers, sprayers, bobcats, side-by-side in a safe manner.
· Performs equipment repair and maintenance.
· Do weekly park inspections.
· Snow Removal; requires early mornings and some weekends at the Energy Wellness Center
· Maintains building and facilities in a clean, safe and sanitary manner. Performs preventive maintenance functions in accordance with maintenance standards.
· Communicates effectively with proper subordinates and maintains positive working relationship with other employees, agencies, and the public.
· Represents Beulah Park District in a positive manner.
· Attends regular department meetings and submit reports related to activities performed that month.
· Oversee all part-time employees and their duties which includes: handing in timecards in a timely manner, instruct employees on tasks and duties to perform, provide a safe working environment.
· Coordinate scheduling of park events with BPD Director and Energy Wellness Center Facility Coordinator.
Qualifications
· One year of experience in grounds and facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Current certification in CPR/First Aid/AED; or the ability to obtain certifications within 6 months of employment.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds alone or heavier lifting with other employees.
· Able to pass a background test.
Work Environment
· Ability to work outdoors as needed in all weather conditions, some of which may be extreme.
· Office is located at the Park Shop within Riverside Park. Work is subject to frequent interruptions.
· Employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. Noise levels in the work environment can be loud.
· Employee is provided a work cell phone, e-mail address and BPRD vehicle during working hours. Position will require some evenings, weekends and possible holiday times.
This is a Full-Time (32 - 40 hours per week work week) Benefited position. Standard days/hours of work are Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Days/hours of work may fluctuate based on facility operations. Special events, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Adjusting work hours because of these activates should be discussed with your supervisor. Receives the full amount of defined BPD benefits described under the BPD policy manual.
