POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of different tasks within the Fleet Maintenance Department.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
Diagnoses and corrects mechanical problems associated with Automotive/Diesel repair, Fork Lift/Pallet Jack repair and preventative maintenance.
Performs assigned tasks regarding all drive line components.
Completes brake and axle repairs, engine diagnostics, electrical repair, safety inspections, welding, and preventative maintenance.
Examines protective guards and specified safety devices on equipment and makes adjustments.
Reads and interprets VCRs (vehicle condition reports) and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor and/or driver for clarification of problems and preventive techniques to minimize future repairs.
Provides guidance to other Mechanics as necessary.
Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Complete repair orders as required.
Ensure communication with managers and other employees as necessary.
Provide company drivers with safe operating vehicles.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D certification and 4 years truck diesel and auto repair in a dealership or fleet environment.
Certificate in electronic diagnostics.
ASE certificate.
Must maintain a valid Driver’s License
Experience diagnosing and correcting of mechanical problems associated with Automotive/Diesel repair, Fork Lift/Pallet Jack repair and preventative maintenance.
Mechanical or trade school certificate.
Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, dust mask, earplugs, gloves, hard hat, respirator, safety glasses, work boots, and safety vest.
Hand tools including, but not limited to, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrenches and other various tools.
Vehicles including, but not limited to, automotive, diesel, forklift, and pallet jack.
Machines including, but not limited to, jacks/stands and other power tools.
ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:
