POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible help with training of Sales Representatives. Monitor and evaluate contributions of each sales representative toward increased sales and distribution based upon quotas and goals. Requires knowledge of sales and merchandising techniques. Must be able to impart this knowledge to subordinates.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Area Coordinator reports to the Area Sales Manager. The Area Coordinator is responsible for helping supervising the sales and merchandising activities within the assigned area of retail accounts.
The position must provide the supervision and coordination of assigned personnel on a daily basis concerning sales, promotion, retail execution, and product quality.
The Area Coordinator achieves accountabilities in part through the supervision of employees.
The Area Coordinator will be responsible to run sales routes throughout the year.
PRINCIPAL INTERACTIONS
- Area Sales Manager, daily to discuss sales, merchandising, and retail activities.
- External Contacts: responsible for key account relationships. As requested by the company, is required to attend company functions and/or special events which may not directly affect his/her area of responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Business Degree or equivalent of five years experience in the beverage industry, sales or route sales. Must be capable of supervising, training and possess excellent communication skills. Must be highly motivated to create enthusiasm and teamwork. Strong organizational, time management and decision making skills a must.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitors and follows up on activities of each assigned sales representative. Assists in and evaluates Sales techniques. Measures sales performance against quota and distribution progress versus goals.
- Included in monthly itinerary is to schedule ride-a-longs with each representative at least once a month.
- Reviews all daily activity reports maintained by direct reports.
- Trains new and current employees in sales techniques and record keeping requirements.
- Must be able to diagnose potential problems and take adequate preventative measures.
- Conducts monthly formal Route Review covering sales, distribution and overall performance.
- Monitors incentive programs for his group and audits and verifies results before submitting to Sales Manager.
- Monitors rotation habits of sales representative, produces a write up when out of code product is found.
- Takes an active role in the collection of delinquent accounts.
- Must have the ability to motivate and attain goals assigned.
- Must conduct regular car/truck inspection of assigned personnels vehicles.
- Must perform the steps included in the Sales Representative job description, including writing sales routes on an as-needed basis.

- Assist in the companys sales effort however possible.
- Ensure that all the companys safety rules and practices are adhered to, (both personal and operational).
- To adhere to all laws, rulings and regulations as prescribed by any regulatory agencies with jurisdiction.
- Keep open lines of communication with all supervisory and management personnel.
- Report market activity. What is the competition doing, price changes, change of ownership of accounts, placements gained or lost, etc.
- Complete accurately and in a timely fashion reports requested by the General Sales Manager, Sales Manager/Designate or Office Manager.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance and adhere to all company and supplier dress requirements. All facial hair will be neatly trimmed. You are responsible for maintenance and appearance of your assigned vehicle
- Help keep the warehouse, drivers room, and the front office clean and organized. Pick up after yourself.
- Failure to maintain a high standard of appearance, actions, language and attitude will be grounds for dismissal.

- Fuel cards are not for personal use. Unauthorized use will result in termination.
