What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bexar County System of Care Project Director position at Bexar County?
Under the general direction of School- Based Program Manager, is responsible for managing and implementing program compliance and coordination of the partnerships within the Bexar County Children’s System of Care Grant. The position will monitor contract and program deliverables between multiple service providers.
**This is a Grant Funded Position**
- Assists in the planning and management of the Bexar County Children’s System of Care program and services including planning, evaluation and fiscal monitoring. Coordinates and develops processes to ensure adherence to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) guidelines.
- Ensures overall aim of the program to bring mental health and substance use services to youth and family
- Oversees Community Resource Coordination Group and programming
- Reviews training materials
- Coordinates directly with county stakeholder, provider partners and community representative
- Address coordination and leveraging of activities on intra-governmental and inter-governmental organizations (CRCG, LMHA, LIDDA, UHS, child-based psychiatric facilities)
- Address and identify student/family issues related to: transportation, language barriers, lack of resources and other social determinants of health
- Interprets/summarizes data provided for the School-Based Program Manager
- Addresses the completion of major milestones
- Identifies additional partners to address resources
- Establishes and updates policy manual
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum bachelor’s degree (masters degree preferred) in Health Care Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Business, with specialization in behavioral or social science, public administration, health care administration, hospital administration or related areas and seven (7) years' experience in community mental health and/or community interfacing criminal justice programs; including at least five (5) years of experience having worked in a management capacity; or a combination of education experience
- Knowledge of Bexar County Community Resource Coordination Group (CRCG) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) guidelines capacity along with awareness in scope of operational activities.
- Knowledge of case management principles and how they affect the development and delivery of programs and services.
- Ability to develop successful collaborations; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with diverse groups; and evaluate its impact for growth opportunities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co workers, County employees, Department Heads, Elected/Appointed Officials, members of multiple teams, outside organizations, and the general public.
- Must be proficient in computer technology and utilize various systems to include MS Office software
- Must have valid Texas driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek; may work weekends
- Constantly working in indoor conditions
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds
- Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
