Under general direction of the Reentry Program Manager, is responsible for working with department staff, community resources, employers and partnering agencies to coordinate the delivery of services and programs to help all clients at the Reentry Center achieve meaningful employment and related training goals; Interviews and assesses clients' aptitudes, existing job skills, identifies employment interests, educational/technical/career interests, and determines work habit modification requirements and planning; and coordinates classes and events in collaboration with partner agencies
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Works with department staff, community-based organizations, employers and partnering agencies to coordinate the delivery of career and technical education services, job fairs, and training programs to help clients at the Reentry Center achieve meaningful employment and related career goalsInterviews and assesses clients’ aptitudes, existing job skills, identifies employment interests, educational/ technical/ career interests, and determines certification and work habit modification requirementsCoordinates and/or hosts job readiness classes, events, and job fairs for program participantsProvides instruction, encouragement and guidance regarding clients’ work habits, appropriate job behavior, job skill development and handling of employment problemsTargets and develops relationships with specific employers within the community and partners with them to create career and skills training based on employers’ needs.Matches job seekers’ skills and abilities with employers’ needs.Conducts informational presentations in the community and in correctional facilities. Monitors clients’ program progress and job performance, and maintains individual case and chronological documentation on participantsPrepares surveys, statistics, performance indicators information, work unit activity reports, evaluations on program and grant activities, and provides input on budgetary matters affecting the programParticipates with the appropriate outside agencies in the development of programs or grant proposals which will benefit clients with employment readinessPerforms other related duties as required
