The Role
At Bexorg, the Perfusion Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our platform. This position is essential to maintaining the daily readiness, functionality, and efficiency of our perfusion systems.
We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support Operations and R&D by executing perfusion runs, preparing solutions, maintaining lab best practices, troubleshooting equipment issues, documenting experimental results, and handling sample collection.
This role requires strict adherence to aseptic techniques, compliance with experimental protocols, and maintaining an organized, secure, and efficient lab environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, prime, decontaminate, and maintain perfusion devices to ensure proper functionality, sterility, and readiness for experimental procedures.
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, such as a pH meter, analytical balance, and/or biosafety cabinets; perform procedures for standard laboratory assays; and effectively perform aseptic techniques.
- Collect and record data according to established protocols and maintain accurate, up-to-date records. The employee will be expected to acquire a level of knowledge to properly execute experiments and analyze results.
- Responsible for general laboratory maintenance; preparing solutions, reagents, and media following defined laboratory protocols; inventory supplies on a weekly basis. Request materials and supplies as necessary in accordance with established procedures; stock supplies upon receipt.
- Operate lab computers for data entry and maintain complete and up-to-date strain, reagent, and chemical lists.
- Exchange data and other information in an appropriate manner, requiring good oral and written communication skills.
- Promote a collaborative, cooperative work environment.
- Comply with biohazard safety standards by properly handling potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents in the workplace.
- Identify and report problems in completing routine lab procedures.
- Lead laboratory and supply maintenance activities, ensuring all scheduled activities are completed and signed off by the manager or designate.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
- BS in a science field, biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or other biology-relevant fields are preferred.
- Experience operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards, etc.).
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems.
- Analytical and numerical skills: the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement and to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
- Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Eager to develop skills in experiment planning, execution, data analysis, and documentation.
- Can work independently and also excel in a team environment.
- Willingness to take on non-traditional tasks, roles, responsibilities, and challenges needed to accomplish company goals and objectives.

- This position is based in a laboratory setting and operates on a multiple-shift schedule, including day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Candidates must be available for on-call rotations as needed.
- We offer competitive shift differential pay for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Specific details regarding shift assignments and differential rates will be discussed during the hiring process.
