Duties

- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to help clients set and achieve personal goals.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and life skills necessary for recovery.
- Facilitate group sessions that promote peer support and community building.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create individualized care plans.
- Offer crisis intervention and management support as needed, ensuring client safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
- Stay informed about community resources and services that can benefit clients.
Requirements
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or equivalent credential is required.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health systems, addiction counseling, and mental health counseling.
- Experience in mentoring individuals facing similar challenges is preferred.
- Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
