What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at BFG - Belfor Franchise Group, LLC?
The Financial Analyst will play an active role in monthly reporting and analysis, key performance indicators, management performance goals budgeting, forecasting, and special projects for the President, CFO and various management throughout the company. The position will work with the company accounting team, including its affiliates, to provide assistance during the monthly close process. Position will also contribute significantly in acquisition financial modeling, including establishing financial reporting, performance metrics, and other related support to newly acquired entities.
This is an in office position in Ann Arbor, MI.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
- Budgeting & Forecasting

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions so that management can use to implement effective operational strategies
- Develops analysis and investigates month over month financial statement variances
- Leads SG&A budgeting meetings and ensures all departments are optimized for lowest possible SG&A costs – runs and compiles analysis on potential cost saving strategies
- Create and distribute monthly financial and KPI reporting
- Forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases/decreases
- Evaluate profit opportunities and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization
- Assist with the accounting department with the month-end close process
- Prepare accounts receivable and notes receivable allowance calculations – proactively monitor collections across all entities within the portfolio
- Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
- Develops product pricing portfolio and analyzes profitability and contribution margin for individual products relative to market
- Analyzes supply chain of manufactured solutions from inception to end user to ensure the most cost-effective practices are being followed. Develops KPIs to monitor costing variations
- Tracks solutions purchasing by franchise in various parts of the calendar year
- Assists with cost/benefit analysis and budgeting for future technology improvements
- Develops ad hoc financial models and reporting for various future projects as defined by the President, CFO, and executive leadership.
- Constructs financial modeling and forecasting for potential mergers/acquisitions, as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; MBA and/or CPA desirable
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in reporting and financial analysis
- Innovative thinker who can find ways for process improvement or cost savings
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent Communication skills and interaction with senior management
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Power Point
- Must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Willingness to learn and grow
