ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide traffic analysis work on a variety of project types including safety, capacity, queuing, and level-of-service analysis
- Work closely with other design teams to incorporate traffic elements into larger projects
- Perform design calculations and cost estimates for traffic elements of design projects
- Produce multiple figures, exhibits, and tables for implementation into reports, assessments, and studies
- Write and/or review engineering assessments, safety studies, traffic impact studies, and reports
- Assist with developing project scope, schedule, and budgets for new projects.
- Coordinate with other support departments and sub-consultants for all project elements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 0-10 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or road design
- Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of Synchro Analysis, RoadHAT, Sidra, Visual or ability to learn these software packages
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate needs to clients and staff.
- Already have or anticipate pursuit of Indiana Professional Engineers License and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work independently with minimal supervision both remotely and at the office while collaborating with other team members both locally and in remote offices.
- Occasionally perform onsite inspections that require moderate physical exertion.
- Occasional travel throughout the state of Indiana for meetings or onsite inspections.
- Work outside of normal business hours if required for meetings.
